Lorraine Cook does "heart work"--storytelling, writing, speaking, women's circles, and "pocket" hearts. My dream is to welcome women of all nations to the next women's world conference.
For my day job, I'm Program Coordinator for a distance learning bachelor's completion program for Registered Nurses offered at Oregon Health & Sciences University School of Nursing.

My Dream
I envision a magnificent ninety-six hour video being shown on a gigantic screen throughout the Sophia Women's World Conference and simultaneously broadcast via the internet worldwide. This video will be composed of one-minute clips of women from all over the world giving voice to their visions for life on this small blue planet. This idea grew out of a talk I had with a young man from Ghana waiting in the badge-making line on the first day of the 52nd Session of the United Nations Commission on the Status of Women. When I asked him why he and his companions had come for the meeting, he said, "We came to listen to the needs of our mothers." I envision young people throughout the world sitting down with their mothers, grandmothers, sisters, aunties, friends, and asking the question, "What is your wish for the children?"
