GATHER THE WOMEN GLOBAL MATRIX

Maybe it is superfluous to say, but I'm a human, and am very worried how things go on/to the Earth.

I'm in deep love with the environment. My heart is on my mountains even when I'm in the office. And I found a job as an environmental engineer and data analyst: not so well paid in Italy, but at least I feel doing something useful.

I also learned to love physics and mathematics, since the time I got my math degree. I have to admit it was not simple for me to get my degree (I had chosen mathematics mainly because I desired to get a job as soon as possible, in teaching or industry, whichever the first). But, in the end I learned a way which if does not allow to understand on the fly the stories all subjects of Nature tell us continuously, at least helps to make some sense.

I've written "am a human", not incidentally. Sure I am. May say then "can't add any more"? My situation is quite unusual, like that of three-colored male cats: I was assigned male on birth, am genetically female, and enjoyed a personal evolution not quite the same as men and women (also incidentally, I'm continuing to present myself as a "male" - being sterile I feel quite indifferent how I present; a change would puzzle the people I love and make institutions happier with me; having to choose, I opt for my beloved). From that journey I feel I may contribute a viewpoint and life experience not very common and, maybe, useful?

My special concern is, what makes us humans, and what it means to be one. I feel the self-domestication process we get in this patriarchal society disconnects us from our humanity by and large.

As social animals, we are built to empathize. We should thrive in relatedness, connection, interdependence - among us and with all other creatures. That we often don't is one of the reasons the World is the way it is.

Naming this so large part of our humanity "feminine", opposed to "masculine" and of a lesser value, is in my opinion a key point of patriarchy. Maybe aimed at making all of us docile consumers (but with a tough autonomous appearance).

Personally, I say "no" to this all. That (patriarchy, I mean) is not my world. I'm doing my best to end it, the way I can in everyday life.

But sure if we're many, then this action will succeed!
