We are not restricted to Stereotypical Religious themes. Are we?

A person could write a new 'Star Trek' TV show with undercurrent themes 
showing how a fully realized adult human reacts to interesting 
situations. It could be a game show with questions and answers. Books 
yes, but they could be comic books, after all, we want the reader "or 
listener or viewer" to reflect on there own lives and strive to do 
better. Isn't this the goal?
