While reading the following paragraph from this article :

"It is time to insist that our leaders take a committed stand and 
join the thousands of grassroots organizations, many spearheaded by 
women and youth, that are forming a powerful global movement to end 
intimate terror and create women and child-honoring societies." 

It was a sad step backwards for Woman this past September with the 
announcement of Federal Cuts to Womans'groups in Canada.

Labrador Provincial Advisory Council on the Status of Women

Its thought provoking. I can only imagine WHY, at this point in 
history that this could possibly happen ! Its a safe bet to assume 
that funds are being required in other areas...Most likely Military 
spending. This is quite alarming. This is a wake-up call. This 
cut to Womans Groups does not at all reflect the values that Canada 
has been noted for.

This is a sad step backwards, but its not going to snuff out our 
voices, our goals, our hopes for a better future. If anything, It 
will make us wake-up further. It will make us more determined than 
ever to make our voices heard..and last but not least it will give 
us that extra push we need to awaken us to be the Creative Beings 
that we are...as we realize:

"It will require both women and men working together to change the 
beliefs, laws, and customs that have so long trapped us in an 
unjust, and increasingly unsustainable, worldview."
