Recently I sent a message to support the U.S. Equal Rights Amendment. 35 of the 50 states have ratified it. It only needs 3 more states to bring it into a reality. There are 15 states who are resisting the ratification and they are: Alabama, Arizona, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Nevada, North Carolina, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Utah and Virginia. From my research, one of the most vocal and prominant opponents is a woman - Phyllis Schlafly. She even has a website: Stop ERA.

The ERA was first introduced into Congress in 1923 and was written by Alice Paul. It has been 74 years and its time is now - to be passed.
