At (Park/Facility & Use Area): The Santa Barbara County Courthouse Sunken Garden

On (Day, Date, & Time): Saturday, March 17, 2007 from 12:00 noon to 3:00PM + cleanup until 4:00PM.

Your Special Use Fee Is: NA (Free speech event)

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS: Please contact Jim Isaac, 681-5651, to make final arrangements for your event. Your reservation will not be confirmed until all fees are paid. - No vehicles are allowed on the grounds. Equipment must be carried in or pulled on dollies or hand-trucks. Please take appropriate care to protect the steps and other hardscape features and lawn from equipment and user damage. - Please restrict access to the building stairs at the corner of the building, east side of the garden and those located to either side of the Fiesta stage. They should not be used for play or sitting. - Please make sure that participants stay on the walkways and lawn and out of shrub beds. Climbing is not allowed. - Do not tie, hang, tape, staple, or otherwise attach anything to the building, trees, or plantings. Do not drive any stakes in the grounds. - Do not block any public access to the buildings. - Make provisions for cleanup, collection, and disposal of any trash and litter generated by your use. - Equipment drop can occur on Saturday morning. Take down & cleanup of the grounds must be done immediately after the event. - Sound equipment testing is not permitted until after 9:00 AM. Amplified music is not allowed. Sound levels must meet City standards of amplification. Please contact the City for current standards. - Questions regarding electrical use and building access should be directed to General Services, Linda Van der Wyk, at 568-3070. - The volume of any PA systems or bullhorns used will be adjusted so the sound does not reach beyond the County grounds. The use of city streets must be coordinated with the City of Santa Barbara. - You must complete the standard Liability Agreement and return it to me prior to your event.

The Park Ranger in charge of the park where the activity is held may restrict or terminate this event at any time the Ranger feels the Permittee may be jeopardizing the safety of park users or may be damaging park property.

The Santa Barbara County Courthouse Grounds The undersigned does hereby accept the condition of the County property described above as is and agrees to defend, indemnify and hold harmless the County of Santa Barbara, its officers, agents and employees from all liabilities, claims or losses for personal injury (including death) or property damage arising from the activity described above. The undersigned further agrees to hold harmless the County of Santa Barbara, its officers, agents or employees from any liabilities, claims or losses arising from the Applicant’s personnel or property connected in any way with the activity described above.

The undersigned agrees to repair, replace or repay, including attorney’s fees, the County of Santa Barbara for any damage to County property in connection with said activity. This agreement shall be binding upon the above named individual, organization or company, their heirs, successors or assigns.
