Where was the alley? I never knew about that, but then there were a lot of things that I never knew about. Does anyone remember Mrs. Smith (she had dark hair) and I think she may have taught English, I remember she told me I was pretty, so of course I liked her. Somehow, I missed the cooking/sewing classes.. probably because I had those classes in Arizona before we came to CA. I wanted to take wood shop & metal shop because they sounded like something much more useful, but Mr. Williams, the counselor said they were not available to girls. He also told me to just take business classes and not the college prep classes that I wanted because girls just got married and raised babies and the classes would be a waste. Do you also remember Mrs. Judson? (typing) I remember the backs of her arms swinging wildly when she wrote on the blackboard. And we thought that would never happen to us! I remember disecting Judy Hamby's frog in science class so she wouldn't fail the class. Those were certainly the days.
