Introducing Walking An Ancient Path: Rebirthing Goddess on Planet Earth – by Karen Tate
An evening of entertainment, performances and inspiration....
Sacred Places of Goddess: 108 Destinations introduced the Divine Feminine to the mainstream world through the lens of sacred travel. Walking An Ancient Path: Rebirthing Goddess on Planet Earth is intended to move that idea forward within the mainstream world, suggesting how Goddess Spirituality is relevant in achieving a balanced and harmonious future - and how becoming Her advocate might be incorporated in one’s spiritual paradigm. Likewise, it is a testament to the women and men of my community who also walk an ancient path and embrace the sacred wisdom of the Divine Feminine as they work to restore her within contemporary culture. Their creativity, dedication, faith, passion and love helped shape the last two decades of my life and this book stands as a tribute to them, and so many communities like ours. May our combined energies shine forth through the pages as a beacon of Her love, light and inspiration. – Karen Tate

Dearest Friend or Colleague, Perhaps you have been a thread in the sacred tapestry helping restore the Divine Feminine in our time. You may have even been a part of my immediate community that helped inspire some of the chapters in this book. You are an interconnected strand in the web that continues to make contemporary Goddess herstory. Please join together with us to revel in our deeds that stand as a testament to all of us walking an ancient path as we embrace the sacred Feminine Consciousness. Come enjoy this soiree in tribute to Isis, She of Ten Thousand Names. Come in community spirit and gratitude. Come bear witness to our past, present and future as we work in partnership to midwife Goddess more fully onto the world stage.
Enjoy the flashes of the past presented from a visual montage of Isis beach rituals, video clips and group sharing. Come together again as we have done so often before providing the container for the restoration of Her essence and ideals. I hope you will be able to come and reminisce - and hopefully be inspired An evening of entertainment, performances and lovely refreshments await you.

We are accepting Applications NOW for Hand crafted sacred object(s) representing the Goddess or the Goddesses that you hold on high from your Altar or Temple for this Awarded Jury Exhibition.
ALL Submissions MUST Be HAND CRAFTED in Part or Whole and Represent The Divine Feminine, and/or one or more Goddess And used as Tribute, Altars or Ritual Objects. (Manufactured unaltered objects will not be considered)
Also accepting Natural Objects that Clearly Represent The Divine Feminine or tribute to one or more Goddess.
Prizes will be awarded in Special Categories. All Registered Submissions will be eligible for all Categories.
Return Filled Application via email or by post mail before JULY 10, 2008
Submissions must be registered an set up at the event no later than 6:55 PM Event begins at 7PM.
Accepted pieces will receive a Registration Card at the event to be placed in front of your entry at a pre designated location. You are responsible in bringing in, setting up, properly displaying and removing your object(s) the day of the event. There will be NO display fixtures available so please bring them with you if your object requires it. If your object is large enough to not be safely placed on a table, please include that information with your application. We will have some one posted in the room prior and after the event, and the gallery room will be closed and locked during the event. No person or entity is responsible or liable for any damage or loss to any entries. Prizes and categories or subject to change without notice.

About your Entry Your entry must be small enough to fit on a tabletop or stand firmly on a carpeted surface. Those standing on the floor must be sturdy, well supported and not dangerous. We have limited room for such objects so make sure you fill out the “Special Consideration” portion of your application. Installations, whole altars or multiple objects creating one entry will not be accepted for this exhibit. In other words, your entry must be singular. That brings me to the next subject. Nothing can be hung on or propped up against a wall. So if your entry requires it for proper display you will need to bring your own stand, easel, etc.
We are opening this competition ONLY to hand crafted or partially hand crafted objects and naturally occurring objects that you use as an altar piece, a tool, an icon, or art piece and all must be representative of the Divine Feminine and/or Goddess.
Judging We are primarily looking for objects and tools versus fine art or “found” pieces and the judging may reflect that. The categories of judging will depend on what kinds, how many and how many prizes we have to award. The “Best of Show “ award will be judged on how well the piece clearly represents the Goddess it is attributed to, the work the object is intended for, it’s magic and it unique aestheticism.
The Process It is easy really. All you need to do is fill out the application to register and get it to us BEFORE July 10th 2008. By email to: maddiesmelody@yahoo.com Or paper mail to: M Friend 15337 ½ Avis Avenue. Lawndale, CA 90260
Enter Early! Once the space is reserved we can’t guarantee any more entries. HOWEVER we will be also issuing “Stand By” entries to replace registered entries that do NOT check in by 6:45. Upon receipt and review, you will receive email, a letter or call stating that your entry was accepted, stand-by or rejected.
The Night of the Soiree Bring you beautiful piece and support (if you need it) to the event Between 6:30 PM and 7:55 PM. And check in with Melody Friend. Give her your name and the name of your object. She will check her list of entrances and show you to your assigned gallery space and give you a show card. Show card is to be placed in front of your entry. Be prepared to set it up in 10 minutes or less You may NOT move your space to another location without permission of Melody Friend and only if there is an overwhelming need. If you are not there and checked in by 6:45 PM your space may be filled with stand-by entries that have already checked in.
The Fine Print Entry placement is at the discretion of the coordinator. Prizes awarded also discretion of judges and coordinator. This event is a free event for entertainment purposes only. This is not a sale and no sales will be allowed in the gallery space. No fees are incurred and no monies will be exchanged, required or awarded. ***ALL ENTRIES MUST BE SET UP BEFORE THE EVENT BEGINS! *** You are responsible in bringing in, setting up and removing your object(s) the day of the event. All objects must be set up at the designated space given to you for the object in the gallery room. There will be NO display fixtures and no leaning of objects against walls or other objects in the gallery space. Nothing will hang on walls of gallery space. We will have someone posted in the room prior and after the event, and the gallery room will be closed and locked during the event but no person or entity is responsible for any damage or loss of entry items! Please guard your possessions well. Prizes and categories are subject to change without notice.
