Oh, PS, Jeanie -- a thought: maybe what should happen (?) at CSW -- is that you go on a "listening tour" among all the people who attend -- and instead of presenting a sales proposal or telling everybody your vision, just do basic research on what people are thinking, what they want to do, how they want to do it, etc. Listen -- in a big way -- which you could do with a well-organized survey.
And once you have this data -- you have the essence of what you need to create successful sales proposals....
This could be a great tool to take to conferences. You can get your arms around the entire process and everybody there. That's what we really need to be doing -- get a big inclusive view, all in one place. I would do the same thing at conferences I attend.
You could solidify 100(+) relationships with something like this -- and from the responses, weave together a big picture that works for everybody who responded. And you would know what you were talking about, it would be solid, it would be documented -- and it would contain the essence of this "relationship" issue that leads everything you do....
