Well, there's a lot of ways to understand this situation. It's complicated, messy, and fractured. That sweet dream of One Nation, One People -- I think it's still alive out there -- but you wouldn't know that by listening to political people right now.

The dems are divided? Oh yes. And so are the Republicans. All these factions rising up on their hind legs, full of outrage that things aren't they way they think they should be.

The way it looks to me is -- the USA is working through a learning curve -- trying all this stuff that doesn't work. Maybe we'll just keep bashing on each other, just so convinced that we are right and the other guys are jerks. Let's throw a fit, let's throw some mud, or some rocks, let's get really angry, let's go to war, that's the way to fix this....

Ok, guys, I think I understand. I been hearing this outrage and anger in the American electorate for quite a while -- for years, way before Obama. This isn't news. People see things differently, and most people want to loudly say that it is THEIR fault, not mine. "Point the finger." "The blame game". "Who's responsible for this, heads have got to roll..."

The problem that I see is -- if we are, as Obama told us 1,000 times, "The United States, not red states and blue states" -- then, as one nation, all these angry people have finally got to notice that the people they are so angry at -- are their neighbors.

Or maybe it's "Washington" that people are furious about. The people who were elected by their neighbors....

See this any way you want, I'm not trying to tell anybody that they are wrong. We can all be blaming each other to our sweet little heart's content -- forming, in this phase that has been going around the last day or two, a national-scale circular firing squad...

You want to blame your neighbor, and beat them into submission somehow. God made you right and them wrong. Lucky you.

Or do you just think there just might be the slightest chance you and your neighbor don't understand each other all that well...??

Yes, I do think America needs a wake-up call -- a wakeup call from the Spirit -- that says HEY -- we are a great nation, and our differences and our diversity are now and have always been a powerful key to our greatness. We are not great in spite of our differences -- we are great BECAUSE of our differences.

That's a message Obama brought to us over and over again. How long is it going to take before we hear it?

What I am telling you is -- there is a tremendous positive force out there, that we can harness. We can come together, just like Obama promised us, just like we dreamed. But he can't do it without us, just like he told us.

My soft little thought is -- throw down the anger and the blame, and get on the sunlight express. Your neighbor ain't so bad. Try it, you might like it...
