I've been getting around town these days on a bicycle. I can get anywhere quick on that thing, and it just gets me "in contact". Lots of prana, lots of chances to live...

Yesterday, at the end of a long loop and a run along the beach, I was tailing off down around East Beach -- and there was a big drummers circle, about 30 drummers and an audience, rocking out pretty good. I pulled up on the bike and hung out for a while.

Hmm. "Is this going to last a while?" I asked a pretty women playing a conga. "Yes", she said. I got on my bike and went home to get my tambourine.

I guess this is "Synchronicity related to circles" too. Just a couple of days ago, I bought this book:

Full of good illustrations on women's spirituality. The author calls this kind of drum (on the cover) a "frame drum". Just like a tambourine, without the bojangles.

I got back to the circle pretty quick and played with them for an hour or so. I might hang out with this circle-jam. They meet every Saturday afternoon, in the same place. There are some very good drummers in the group -- drum teachers, professionals, a few people that can really rip it up hard. It's fun. And there are a few women dancing, that primal thing...

It's all quite high-vibe. No alcohol, nothing out of control. When they asked for a donation, because the city wants $25 an afternoon to reserve the space, I said that the city ought to be paying the group instead, since they are radiating a good vibe into the world, probably reducing crime and all that "Maharishi Effect" stuff. The woman asked me to write a letter to the city saying as much...
