Co-Founder, Women of Spirit and Faith

I am particularly interested in interfaith dialogue and how the work we do in interfaith moves out into the world. The particular emphasis that I have is in the arena of listening. It seems to me that we need to sharpen this skill to be effective at interfaith dialogue.

Kay Lindahl has been described as an inspired presence with passionate energy. For over fifteen years the daily practice of Centering Prayer has been transforming her life. She founded The Listening Center with the mission of exploring the sacred nature of listening. She also founded the Alliance for Spiritual Community, a grass-roots interfaith organization which focuses on the dialogue process. Kay leads workshops on Centering Prayer and conducts workshops and retreats on listening as a spiritual practice.

Kay is the author of : Practicing the Sacred Art of Listening, and The Sacred Art of Listening, both published by SkyLight Paths Publishing. She has written chapters on “The Art of Dialogue and Centering Prayer” in The Diversity of Centering Prayer, published by Continuum Press and “Listening” in In Times Like These published by Church Publishing Inc.

She participates in many community projects and serves as Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the North American Interfaith Network. She is a past-trustee for the Global Council of the United Religions Initiative, an international movement to create peace among religions. Kay is a dedicated spokesperson for the interfaith movement and is an ordained interfaith minister.

She a founding member of Faith Episcopal Church where she is a lay eucharistic minister. Kay serves on the Commission on Lay Ministry Development and the Commission on Ecumenicity for the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles. She is a summa cum laude graduate of Pepperdine University.
