"The most important thing I inherited from my parents was faith. Its substance made me, on average, a trusting person, and its content can be stated equally simply: we are in good hands, and in gratitude for that fact we do well to bear one another's burdens."
Why Religion Matters: The Fate of the Human Spirit in an Age of Disbelief - Huston Smith

Ah yes... and "The Sound of Music"... those songs and pictures still wander through my mind. Pure escapism, and she was a beautful singer.

How about "Singing in the Rain", "Easter Parade", "Casablanca" (the dialogue is so witty), "Maltese Falcon", "Kiss me Kate" (Howard Keel is gorgeous), "Bandwagon" (not a great movie, but wonderful music). Love them all. We are lucky to have a theater in Palo Alto (The Standford Theater) which has been restored by the Packard Foundation and they play all these wonderful old movies. The theater even has a pipe organ which rises out of the orchestra pit, and is played during intermission.
