Interests
My primary interest is in movement, as a movement therapist, a teacher/facilitator, an artist, a researcher and a writer. I have been strongly influenced by a non-stylized practice called Amerta Movement, the work of Indonesian movement artist, Suprapto Suryodarmo. I am currently co-editing a book about the applications of this work to various international practitioners' work and daily lives. I am an approved teacher of Amerta Movement.
I am a member of THRIVE INFANT FAMILY PROGRAM, supporting parents of infants in neonatal intensive care. I love observing infants, and engaging in movement dialogues with them.
I love exploring the interface between verbal and nonverbal communication - two kinds of articulation.
I love moving.. writing.. moving.. writing..
I love practicing Depth Movement in Nature, especially on my local beach. It wakes my up to myself and to my surroundings - enlivening and inspiring.

ON CONSCIOUS EVOLUTION - SANTA BARBARA
I am a movement psychotherapist and movement facilitator. My practice is called Depth Movement. It is a practice in deepening sensory awareness and expression through awakening the body's own language and creating new 'vocabulary'. It is simple and fun and anyone can do it! In Santa Barbara, I have a private practice, and I teach in small and large group settings. My books are THE EMBODIED SELF, and MOVES: A SOURCEBOOK OF IDEAS FOR BODY AWARENESS AND CREATIVE MOVEMENT. I lived in London from the early '80's until 2010. There I practiced movement psychotherapy; and I taught movement for actors at the Royal Academy of Dramatic. Art for 20 yrs.
